NCHS Band Wins WSB-TV's 'Best High School Band' Contest!

After more than 20 million web votes and over half-a-million text message
votes, the Warrior Marching Band has been named the winners of WSBTV.com's
‘Best High School Band’ contest!

For winning, the band gets a chance to play in the fan plaza prior to a Braves
game this spring (date TBA). All band members who attend will get into the
game for free, and the Braves will donate a portion of the price of the tickets
sold to parents and friends of the band back to the band!

Click here to check out the slideshow and the video on WSB-TV’s website (the
video was used to help determine the winner – it’s a segment of the band's
2009 show 'Rhapsody3', filmed prior to the October football game at East
Paulding – hmmm, it might have rained a little bit at that game…).

Congratulations to the Warrior Marching Band!

Congratulations on a Great Season!

The Warrior Marching Band completed a very successful competition season on
Saturday, November 7
th, when they presented their 2009 show ‘Rhapsody3’ for the

To the band:

Your dedication, support of your band mates, and belief in yourself not only helped
you present a thoroughly entertaining performance each time you stepped onto the
field (a performance, by the way, that drew loud applause and many accolades from
opposing schools’ fans), but it also helped you capture two Grand Champion awards, something unique that only happens when the right band comes along…

It looks like that’s exactly what happened this year!

Congratulations on a great 2009 marching season! It was all good!

Who? North Cobb Band!

Warriors Named Grand Champions at the Perko Blackhawk Classic!

The Warrior Marching Band captured their second top award of the 2009 marching
season, winning the Wallace E. Brown Jr. Grand Champion Award at the 5
th Annual
John L. Perko Blackhawk Classic, held October 31
st, 2009 in Weaverville, NC!

This marching competition proved to be quite successful for the Warriors, as
the band earned top honors in Class AAAA for color guard, percussion, visual
effect, music, and overall band performance. The Warriors also received the
Gold Award, given to the best overall performance out of all the large band classes!
In addition, the Warrior woodwinds received special recognition when they were
named as the Outstanding Woodwind Section in the entire competition!

Congratulations once again to all members of the Warrior Marching Band, who didn’t
let a few drops of rain
(!) dampen their spirit or their performance!

On a historical note, this is the second Perko Blackhawk Classic championship for the Warriors,
who were named Grand Champions at the inaugural event, held in 2005
.
