All 'Superior' Ratings at Festival!

Congratulations to all of the North Cobb High School Band’s students and
directors for their performances at the Georgia Music Educators Association
District 12 Festival, held March 11-13th, 2009, at McEachern High School.

In the Large Group Performance Evaluation, the Concert Band, the Symphonic
Band, and the Wind Symphony all received overall SUPERIOR ratings from
all judges! Well done!

North Cobb District 12 Honor Band Selections

Sixteen members of the North Cobb Warrior band were selected to play for the
2009 GMEA District 12 Honor Bands this year! All Honor Bands members performed
during the weekend of February 6-8, 2009, at Kennesaw Mountain High School.

Congratulations to all of our Honor Band members!

Wind Symphony Performs at UGA Janfest!


The North Cobb Wind Symphony gave an excellent performance at this year's
University of Georgia January High School Festival (Janfest), held on Friday,
January 15th, 2009. Selection to Janfest is a very special honor for the band, and
it serves as a reward for the hard work and dedication they have put forth
throughout the year.

The Wind Symphony's Janfest program included ‘Sevens’, selections
from ‘Fantasies on a Theme by Haydn’, ‘Dusk’, ‘Turbine’, and ‘Rolling Thunder’.

Congratulations to all members of the Wind Symphony on your Janfest selection
and performance this year!

Warrior Marching Band Named Grand Champions at Old South!


The North Cobb Warrior Marching Band completed their 2008 competition season in
grand fashion November 1st, winning the Old South Trophy as Grand Champions
of the 29th Annual Old South Marching Festival in Newnan, GA!

Performing their program 'Viva Las Vegas', the Warrior Band received Superior
ratings for Drum Major, Percussion, Color Guard, and overall band performance,
leading to a first place finish in the Class AAAA division (for the second competition
in a row, the
Color Guard’s score was highest among all competing teams!).

The band’s excellent performance of their musical medley (which includes ‘Viva Las
Vegas’, ‘Suspicious Minds’, ‘Yesterday’,
the original composition ‘Vegas Dance Mix’,
‘The Gambler’, ‘Luck Be A Lady’, and ‘Time To Say Goodbye’
) also earned them
the High Music award for highest score of the entire competition. Combined with strong
scores in both the Visual and General Effect categories, the Warrior’s overall
score earned them the Old South Grand Champion award for 2008!

Congratulations to all members of the band, Mr. Williams, Mr. Pannell, and the
entire staff for making 2008
a marching season to remember!

EPMTHREE for providing the props for this year's show, and to Pete & Camille Walton and
Mark Jansen for their prop engineering expertise!

First in Class at the JSU Contest of Champions!

The Warrior Marching Band completed an extremely successful weekend at the
inaugural Contest of Champions, held October 25th on the campus of
Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL.

In the afternoon preliminaries, the Warrior band received Superior ratings
for Drum Major, Percussion, Color Guard, and overall performance,
helping the band take first place in the Class AAAA division!

Advancing to the finals as one of the top 12 (of 26) bands, the Warriors improved
their score during their evening(!) performance, leading to a strong 4th place
finish overall! To cap off the event, both the Warrior
Color Guard and
Percussion units were named top performers for the entire competition!

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band for a job well done!
