Mr. Pannell, a native of Columbus, Georgia earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Georgia Southern University where he studied with Dr. Daniel Pittman and Dr. Matthew Fallin.

Mr. Pannell is in his first year as the Assistant Director of Bands at North Cobb High School. He began his career in 1999 as Director of Bands at Sewell Middle School and Assistant Director of Bands at Bremen High School in Bremen, Georgia. In 2003, Mr. Pannell went on to become the Director of Bands at Lithia Springs High School in Lithia Springs, Georgia. Under his direction the Lithia Springs Marching Band won numerous superior ratings, and several class placements/championships, and a Grand Championship. Mr. Pannell has judged band and percussion at competitions and exhibitions around the Atlanta area and has served as a percussion instructor and clinician at several Georgia high schools. He is a member of GMEA, MENC, PAGE, and PAS.

Mr. Pannell resides in Douglas County with his wife, Dawn and sons, Brantley (4) and Render (3).
